Even If You Escape The Stone You Still Must Escape The Eye

Ella Dawn McGeough
MFA thesis exhibition

August 20 - 24, 2013

This exhibition asks three questions: (1) what are the effects of daring to look Medusa in the eye?; (2) who will you see?; and (3) could she be holding a mirror up to our own time, which we are repeatedly told is narcissistic? This project does not attempt to represent reality but rather possibility: a possible portrait of Medusa.

Ella Dawn McGeough (b. 1982, Vancouver, Canada) is an MFA candidate at the University of Guelph. She received her BFA from the University of British Columbia in 2007.
